Laura has a wealth of experience to share with schools. Prior to starting Inspire Primary English, Laura worked for Babcock 4S as a teaching and learning adviser. During her role she worked with hundreds of schools both within Surrey and beyond, supporting teachers and leaders with school improvement, CPD, assessment, moderation, leadership and curriculum development. Laura’s training and consultancy always receives excellent feedback and schools enjoy her engaging and inspiring manner. As part of her role at Babcock 4S, Laura was a lead moderator for statutory assessment at the end of key stage 1 and key stage 2.
Prior to working for Babcock 4S, Laura worked at primary schools in Hampshire and Surrey, fulfilling many roles including English lead, senior leadership team member, assessment lead, key stage lead and, most importantly, class teacher.
Laura has an honours degree in English Literature from the University of Sussex; a Primary PGCE and a Masters in Education both from the University of Reading.
In her spare time, Laura is an active member of a writing club and a book club. She is a school governor at a local infant school and a mother of two young children.
Laura started Inspire Primary English because she is passionate about developing children’s reading and writing skills and thoroughly enjoys working with teachers and leaders to ensure the best outcomes for all children. She believes that all English lessons should develop children as lifelong writers and readers and centres her training and consultancy around this. She ensures that all her work with schools is bespoke to their needs and children.
